Georgia is situated in the south Caucasus region, between Black Sea and Caspian Sea. The Great Caucasus is protecting from the northern cold climate, what moderates local climate together with influence of subtropical and continental climates.
The midwinter average temperature is 5 °C (41 °F) and the midsummer average is 22 °C (71.6 °F). Humidity is lower, and rainfall averages 500 to 800 mm (19.7 to 31.5 in) per year.
The best time to visit Georgia, whether you're travelling to the mountains or the coast, is during summer.
But winter is coming, and it will offer many interesting attractions all over the country.
There are 6 skiing resorts in Georgia:” Gudauri”, “Bakuriani”, “Tetnuldi”, “Mestia”, “Goderdzi” and “Betania”.
The ski resort Gudauri is located in Mtskheta-Mtianeti. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 57 km of slopes available. 7 lifts to transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,990 and 3,279m.
Gudauri is a growing resort, enchanting visitors with its wealth of opportunities for an active holiday in the mountains, unparalleled views, amazing colors, festive atmosphere, and the warm welcome which awaits its guests.
The ski resort Tetnuldi is located in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 25 km of slopes available. 3 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 2,265 and 3,040 m. Elevation: 2265 m - 3040 m (Difference 775 m)
The ski resort Goderdzi Resort is located in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 8 km of slopes available. 2 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,724 and 2,366 m.
Goderdzi Resort, located two hours drive from the popular seaside resort town of Batumi in Georgia, is ideally situated for the creation of a four-season mountain resort. At an elevation of 2000m, the mountains are snow-covered from November to April, while the gently rolling topography of the valley floor offers plentiful development zones. Sitting at around 1700 m elevation, the resort base is below the treeline, offering an attractive and welcoming character throughout the seasons.
The ski resort Bakuriani is located in Samtskhe-Javakheti. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 17 km of slopes available. 14 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,740 and 2,672 m. It is also a superb venue for children to engage in winter sports and activities. It is the best four-season mountain resort, ideal destination for recreational purposes as well as for sport and nature lovers. 
The ski resort Mestia is located in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 4.4 km of slopes available. 1 lift transports the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,800 and 2,450 m.
The ski resort Betania is located in Georgia. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 0.6 km of slopes available. 1 lift transports the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,200 and 1,300 m.
A new ski area has been announced for the 2011/2012 season at Betania, near Tbilisi in Georgia at a location renowned for its reliable snow cover. Further spending and expansion planned in future years.
